Raise your hand if one of your favorite childhood memories was stabbing a marshmallow and roasting it over a fire only to quickly put it between two graham crackers and a chunk of chocolate. My hand is raised! I don’t know who invented this delicious pass time known as a s’more, but thank you, thank you, thank you.
Some may think that this dessert is a fall/winter one, but let’s be serious. Anything that has chocolate in it can be eaten and enjoyed at any time, of any season.
Today, I put a little twist on this traditional delight. While I normally show you pictures of step by step directions, this one dessert is so easy that taking photos of each step seemed silly to me.
- 10 jumbo marshmallows
- 1 bar of chocolate
- 1 mini graham cracker pie crust
Note – This recipe yields one mini pie. Multiply the amount for however many pies you plan on making.
Microwave marshmallows in a large bowl for 20 seconds. Since they expand when they are heated, you want to make sure they have room to do so. Remove from microwave and stir well. Then reheat for another 20 seconds. Stir when done.
By now the marshmallows should be melted and creamy. While they are still hot, break up the chocolate and put into the bowl, but keep 2 pieces of chocolate to the side. Mix well until it looks like it’s chocolate fluff.
Scoop into the graham cracker pie crust. Chop up the remaining 2 pieces of chocolate and sprinkle on top. That’s all!
GIMME SOME OVEN S’MORIN LOVIN’!
